Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code for dance classes?

  • Hair must be pulled back out of the face, either in a ponytail or bun if long enough.
  • Students should wear a leotard or tank top with shorts, leggings, or a tutu.
  • Dance shoes are required to enter the dance rooms.
  • Sports bras and crop tops are permitted when age appropriate.
  • All team members must wear their team tank tops to class each week.

What shoes does my child need for class?

Depending on the class, students may need tan jazz shoes, pink ballet shoes, and/or tap shoes.
Pink ballet shoes and tan jazz shoes are available for purchase at the studio.

Can parents observe dance classes?

Classes are taught with only the students and teacher in the room, and students must be able to enter class independently. Dancers tend to focus better, engage more, and enjoy class more when they cannot see parents or siblings.

If your child is not yet ready to participate independently, we recommend waiting until they are a little older. We also offer a Baby Ballet: Mommy & Me class for ages 18–36 months for children who are not quite ready for a regular class.

When is tuition due and how can I pay?

Tuition is posted on the 20th and is due on the 1st of each month. Payments may be made through the parent portal or at the studio by cash, check, or card.

Cards on file are run on the 1st for tuition and on the 15th for additional charges that may have been added to your account, such as shoes or batons. You may pay by cash or check before the 1st, and your card will not be charged if your account has no balance.

Monthly tuition is nonrefundable after the 1st of each month regardless of attendance. Tuition is considered late after the 1st, and late fees are charged on the 17th to accounts with an outstanding balance.

What information should I keep updated in the Parent Portal?

Please keep your Parent Portal information current, especially your emergency contact information. You should also make sure you are receiving our weekly emails, since most studio communication is sent by email.

What is the drop-off and pickup policy?

For your child’s safety, there is no unattended drop-off or pickup. A parent or guardian must come inside the building when bringing a child to class and when picking them up.

Please follow the direction of the arrows in the parking lot and do not block the front door or porch area.

What is the attendance policy?

Classes begin and end on time, so please arrive on time each week. Class fees are not adjusted based on attendance.

If you need to withdraw your child from class, please provide 30 days’ notice.

What is the restroom break policy?

Please have your child use the restroom before class so they can make it through the class without a restroom break. Teachers are not permitted to give restroom breaks during 30- or 45-minute classes.

If necessary, we will certainly take a student to the restroom, but we appreciate your help in being preventative so your child can get the most out of class.

Are drinks and snacks allowed in the dance room?

Drinks, snacks, and gum are not allowed in the dance room except for medical reasons, such as low blood sugar. There is not enough time during class to consume them, and spills can create safety concerns.

Water bottles are highly recommended for students taking one-hour classes or more than one class in a day.

How will I know if classes are canceled because of inclement weather?

In the event of snow or ice, a decision regarding classes will be posted by 12:00 PM that day on our Facebook page and Instagram page. We will also send an email and text notification.
