Instructors

Ansley Cartee Minor

Ansley is the owner of Carolina Superstars Baton & Dance. Ansley graduated from Clemson University in 2017 with a degree in business management and a minor in athletic leadership. Ansley was the Clemson Feature Twirler from 2013-2017, where she had the opportunity to twirl at two National Championship games! During her time as Feature Twirle,r she was named Miss TigerTime 2016 and awarded the Lee Tate Spirit of Clemson award.
Upon graduating from Clemson, Ansley received the ROARING 10 award from Clemson University in 2021 for being one of the ten most distinguished Clemson graduates in the last 10 years.

Ansley’s training in baton & dance started at a young age. She has danced & twirled since she was just 2 years old. Ansley is a former National Twirling Champion, Miss Majorette of America, & member of the World Team. She traveled to Switzerland with Team USA in 2012 for the World Baton Twirling Championships and received a silver medal.
Ansley loves sharing her love for baton and dance with her students. Seeing Carolina Superstars continue to grow & flourish is a dream come true to her! In the few years, Ansley has enjoyed implementing weekly Bible studies into her elite teams’ curriculum. Creating an environment where students love to be in, love learning, and can thrive is what she strives for!

Hazel Cartee

Hazel has been twirling and dancing most of her life. She is passionate about working with students of all ages, instilling confidence and motivating them to be the best they can be. She is a graduate of Anderson University where she earned her degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has taught baton and dance in the area for over 50 years and has devoted her life to working with children. Hazel coached the Clemson University Tiger Twirlers for over 30 years along with coordinating the Clemson University Tiger Dancers. Hazel has had numerous teams and solo twirlers win National titles over the years. She has helped many young girls reach their goals in the areas of baton and dance by making college twirling and dance teams at Clemson University, University of Georgia, University of Texas, Tennessee University, Middle Tennessee State University and more. She has immense experience in recreational and competitive class environments. Her love for children and desire to see them develop a positive self-image makes her an incredible teacher.

Marilla Riggs

Marilla holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance from Shenandoah University, graduating in 2014. Entering her 8th season this fall, Marilla proudly coaches the Clemson Tiger Dancers, guiding a 21-member team through performances in Death Valley alongside the Clemson Tiger Band.
From the age of 3 in East Tennessee, Marilla trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and hip hop. She also enjoyed performing in musical theatre productions like High School Musical, Hairspray, and Seussical at a regional theatre.

After college, Marilla lived in D.C., working with a professional dance company, teaching in studios, and guest-performing with a Grammy-winning artist.
Now settled in Spartanburg with her family, Marilla is committed to sharing her passion for dance and performance with the next generation at Carolina Superstars.

Nicole Chambers

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Nicole Chambers to our Carolina Superstars staff as an instructor! Nicole danced and twirled under Hazel as a child where she learned invaluable life skills along with broadening her dance & baton background! Nicole has been working at the studio in various capacities since her own child started taking at a young age! For the last 17 years, Nicole has assisted Carolina Superstars by being our recital coordinator, working the front counter, & teaching classes. Nicole received her Bachelors of the Arts degree from Anderson University in human services and Paralegal Studies. Nicole says her goal when teaching is to make sure each child feels welcomed and that each child leaves class knowing they learned and had fun in class! We are honored to welcome Nicole as an instructor!

Katie Chacharone

Katie is from Worcester, Massachusetts and currently attends Clemson University as a Tiger Dancer and is pursuing a degree in Animal Veterinary Sciences. Tiger Dancers has given her the opportunity to perform in Death Valley and other football stadiums on game days. She’s been dancing for 15 years and has been trained in all styles. For 6 years she had the opportunity to be apart of her Dance team where she competed at a state, regional and national level. She taught private acro lessons at her home studio and helped assist in select classes. Katie loves being able to build confidence in dancers as well as improve their technique! She’s super excited to work with everyone and make Carolina Superstars her new home!

Alexandria “Alie” Neshan

Alexandria “Alie” Neshan dedicated most of her life to dance, training and competing
with Starz Artistic Performing Company. Throughout her career, she has earned
numerous scholarships and accolades at regional and national dance conventions
across the country.

Her passion for performance has taken her to stages nationwide, including the
renowned Carnival Choreographers Ball at the Key Club in Los Angeles and the Miss
South Carolina Pageant. At just 11 years old, she appeared on Showtime in Harlem,
showcasing her talent on national television. Alie then went on to dance professionally
with Jean Ann Ryan Productions aboard the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship where she
performed in various productions.

As a choreographer, Alie has worked with the Clemson Rally Cats and several dance
companies, inspiring the next generation of performers. Her students have won top
awards at high school pageants, Miss South Carolina preliminaries, and dance
competitions. Teaching and mentoring young dancers is her greatest passion, sharing
with them the artistry and discipline of dance.
Beyond dance, Alie is also the proud owner of Dream Co. Events, where she brings her
creativity and eye for detail to event planning and design. She loves curating
memorable experiences.

When she’s not in the studio or planning events, Alie enjoys spending time with her
husband, Nick, and their three children—Cyrus, Lennox, and Poppy.

Ciara Fowler

Ciara graduated from Lander University in 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2019, she graduated with her Masters Degree in Education from Anderson University. She is a current first grade teacher in Anderson School District 5 and has been teaching first grade for 7 years. She enjoys being around children and teaching is her calling. Since the young age of 3, she has taken various dance classes including Tapp, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, and Hip Hop. During her 15 years of dance lessons, she danced in Atlanta and at Disney World for 4 years on a competition team. Investing in the future is very important to her and she loves being able to teach young children the love of dance.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two young children, going to church, and going to the mountains to visiting Dollywood.

Katelyn Williams

We are thrilled to welcome back Ms. Katelyn to Carolina Superstars for another season as an instructor! At the age of three, she started taking dance and baton from Ms. Hazel. She went on to compete and become the feature twirler for Hart County High School. After graduating, she went on to become a Tiger Twirler for Clemson University! Katelyn can’t wait to share her passion for baton and dance with all of the students at Carolina Superstars!

Katelyn is a Cardiac Sonographer at Anmed. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and three children, Krew, Millie, and Stella.
